The DuPage County Health Department is a great resource for public health questions, breast and cervical cancer screening and treatment, tuberculosis treatment, adult immunizations, HIV services, tobacco cessation, etc.

Prairie State Legal Services provides low or no cost legal resources to low income residents of our community.

Access Community Health Network, with three clinics in DuPage County (located in Bloomingdale, West Chicago, and Addison), provides medical services at reduced rates for individuals unable to pay higher costs, especially patients without health insurance.  They also welcome Medicaid enrollees, and provide family planning services.

VNA Health Care, with two clinics in DuPage County (located in Carol Stream and Bensenville), provides medical services at reduced rates for individuals unable to pay higher costs, especially patients without health insurance. They also welcome Medicaid enrollees, and provide breast and cervical cancer screening services.

Individuals seeking medical assistance through Medicaid, as well as assistance with food stamps, ALLKIDS, and TANF, should contact the local Illinois Department of Human Services office.

Walmart – Walmart offers many medications for $4 per prescription

Target – Target offers many medications for $4 per prescription

Meijer – offers a number of antibiotics, vitamins, metformin and generic Lipitor for free

Kmart – Kmart has a long list of medications available for $5 a month, and another list of medications available for $10 for 90 days.

Do I Qualify?

  • Resided in DuPage County for at least 30 days
  • Between the ages of 19 and 64
  • Household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level
  • No medical insurance
  • Not eligible for select private or public health coverage
